Tuscany (Italian: Toscana) is one of the twenty Regions of Italy. The capital is Florence, and it has an area of 22,990 km² and about 3.6 million inhabitants. Tuscany is known for its landscapes and its artistic legacy. Six Tuscan localities have been made UNESCO protected sites: the historical center of Florence (1982), the historical center of Siena (1995), the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987), the historical center of San Gimignano (1990), the historical center of Pienza (1996) and the Val d'Orcia (2004).
Plans to bring the historic Italian city of Siena into the jet age with the expansion of its small airport are being contested by an embattled group of citizens.
The Apicultural Association of Tuscany provinces, in conjunction with the Agricultural Confederation of Arezzo, organises the 21st edition of the Honey Festival, under the patronage of the Province, the Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo.
There were two broad classes of Tuscan water fountains known in the fifteenth century: the freestanding or “isolated” type, designed for the center of a piazza, court, or garden; and the “engaged” or wall foun¬tain, placed against a wall at the end of a square or courtyard.
Casa Poggio is a three bedroom villa, and although Casa Poggio is newly renovated, the features of a real Italian villa are kept intact and untouched like its wooden ceilings and rooftops. This villa may be small in terms of room number, the serenity of the place and the spacious area outside makes it a real place of vacation and retreat.
Tuscany, Italy is one of the most famous places in Europe because of its rich and well-known history, arts, scenic landscapes and its wine. Florence, the capital of the region is one of the most recognizable symbol of Tuscany, it is the place where Renaissance was born.
